Day 5- Part 2 - Beursschouwburg

Beursschouwburg...can you say that ten times fast? If you can even tell me how to pronounce it (although I have my ideas) I will buy you a frosty Heineken! Either way, the place is very cool to visit. Since you're still in the dark metaphorically, I'll go ahead and tell you that it's a performing arts center in Brussels and the spaces are nothing short of amazing. See the pictures if you don't believe me. Apart from the accidental painting of the main theater in gold, the interior architecture is pretty cutting edge and very cool. Did I mention that there's four bars in the place?

In addition to the main theater and aforementioned bars, there is a small "black box" cinemas for intimate screening of films of all types and another large hall-type performance space upstairs, as well as an outdoor balcony that can accommodate a plethora of events. Check out the website at http://www.beursschouwburg.be/ - it's not available in English, but there is a calendar and you can get a good idea of the up and coming goings on. Peruse the pretty pictures below for some architectural details and a variety of interior and exterior views. Don't forget if you're ever contemplating attendance, they have FOUR bars!
